About the Practice
Chicago Child Psychiatry Associates is a well-established, physician-led private psychiatry practice in Chicago seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team. We primarily serve children, adolescents and young adults. Our practice is dedicated to delivering personalized, evidence-based mental health care in a supportive and collaborative environment. You will work directly under the supervision and partnership of a double board-certified psychiatrist in child and adolescent psychiatry and general psychiatry with opportunities for autonomy and professional growth.
Position Overview
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will provide comprehensive mental health care to a diverse patient population, including diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment planning. This position offers both in-person and hybrid options.
Key Responsibilities
– Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for new and established patients
– Diagnose mental health conditions and develop individualized treatment plans
– Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with best practices and Illinois regulations
– Provide ongoing medication management and follow-up care
– Collaborate closely with supervising psychiatrist on complex cases
– Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
– Educate patients and families on treatment options and mental health conditions
– Coordinate care with therapists, primary care providers, and other specialists as needed
– Participate in community relations events as able
Qualifications
– Active and unrestricted Illinois Nurse Practitioner license
– Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
– DEA license (or eligibility)
– Minimum 1–2 years of psychiatric clinical experience preferred (new graduates with strong clinical training may be considered)
– Strong clinical judgment and interpersonal skills
